Alec Miller has significant experience representing individuals and companies on corporate and intellectual property matters. He has advised the senior management of a $400 million corporation and drafted agreements on issues including technology transactions, such as web site, privacy and security compliance; employment law; strategic alliance; and general business issues of day-to-day transactions.
In the entertainment and media sectors, Alec has represented clients on matters that include forming business entities, securing trademarks and service marks, drafting Privacy Policies and Terms of Use, and advising on compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). He has also drafted actor, director, producer, and writer agreements in television, and negotiated production agreements on behalf of music, television and production entities. Alec has negotiated contracts with and/or pitched entertainment properties to companies including: Columbia Records, E! Entertainment Television, EMI Music Publishing, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Time Warner, Walt Disney Company, and Warner Brothers' The WB Television Network.
Alec is also experienced in litigation. He has managed commercial litigation cases involving real estate claims and breach of contract, and has second-chaired antitrust cases involving the medical transport and retail shoe industries.
