  • Storrs W. Downey has been representing business and insurance carriers for over 25 years on all forms of litigation ranging from construction to employment matters in Illinois and Indiana. He has successfully tried various jury trials to verdict and in excess of 100 administrative hearings. Storrs is an active speaker before local, regional, and national organizations on a wide variety of litigation topics.

    Fernandez v. Tempel Steel Corp., 1-93-3818 (Ill. App. Ct., 5th Divn., 12/29/95). (Affirmed good faith settlement on behalf of employer; multiple issues of first impression.)
     
    Honegger v. Wickes Furniture Corp., Inc., 94 C 1584 (N.D. Ill. 10/20/95). (Summary judgment on behalf of employer in pregnancy discrimination claim.)
     
    Chasko v. USX Corp., H91-299 (N.D. Ind. 1993). (Summary judgment on behalf of commercial premises owner.)
     
    United States Steel Corp.-Gary Works v. Industrial Commission, 161 Ill. App. 3d 437, Ill. 3d Dist 1987).  (Overturned finding of Illinois jurisdiction on workers’ compensation claim and transferred to Indiana.)
