· After a 1 week jury trial, Terry Madden recently received a not guilty verdict in favor of a Chicago chiropractor in a malpractice case tried in Cook County. The plaintiff claimed that the chiropractor was negligent in performing chiropractic adjustments to treat complaints of neck pain and that as a result, he had 2 cervical fusion surgeries. Plaintiff asked for $620,000 in damages. Terry successfully argued that the chiropractor treated the neck complaints properly. · · Richard Lenkov was invited to be a member of Northern Illinois University College of Law Board of Visitors. The Board of Visitors is an advisory board whose purposes include, but are not limited to, increasing awareness of the College of Law and providing a valuable linkage between the college and the community. The Board of Visitors is composed of judges, lawyers, law faculty from other schools, and persons interested in the Northern Illinois University College of Law.

· Richard Lenkov to Speak at National Workers’ Compensation Conference
Richard Lenkov has again been chosen to speak at SEAK’s 28th Annual National Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Medicine Conference. The conference will be held on Cape Cod, in Hyannis, Massachusetts from July 15 to 17, 2008.
Rich will be presenting the topic “Turning the Tables: How To Use An Employee’s Own Actions As A Defense To Their Workers’ Compensation Claim.” This presentation will be held at 2:40 p.m. on July 16, 2008. It promises to be an interesting discussion on how to craft seldom-used defenses to put your case in the best position for a victory.
